Weekly Update - August 11, 2024

Good afternoon TMSA Families,                                                    August 11, 2024

This is Mrs. Burke with your updates for the week ahead.  I would like to welcome all new and returning families and wish everyone a great first day of school! It is going to be an awesome year!

  1. Early drop off is from 7-7:15am. Regular drop off is 715-7:45am. Classes begin at 7:45am.
  2. We are a right turn in and right turn out campus.  This is necessary for safety and to help provide a smooth and safe drop off and pick up. Students are assigned carline numbers and they should memorize their carline number as soon as possible. Carline numbers were distributed at open house. If you did not attend or receive yours, they will go home with students tomorrow.
  3. Please remain in your car as you go through the carline and know that we have plenty of staff to assist those that need help getting out (ex. Door safety lock) and finding their way to their classrooms.
  4. Students must exit from the left side of the vehicles.  This is for safety reasons because some pull around. Have your students sit in the back and ready to exit after pulling all the way forward to the vehicle in front of you. We unload about 11 cars at a time.
  5. It is important that you have your student/s ready to exit the car. If they fall asleep on the way, please start waking them up before pulling into the parking lot.
  6. Encourage your student to get out quickly and to not wait for someone to open their door. (child locks we will assist)
  7. Kindergarten parents can park and enter Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday.  Thursday starts the “Kiss and Go.” Again, we have plenty of staff to assist.
  8. If you are in need of afterschool providers, we can send the list to you. We are still working on getting an on-site opportunity and will keep you posted if we are able to do so.
  9. Be sure your child’s teacher knows how your student will go home.
  10. Beginning of year assessment windows will open next week. Your students K-5 will be taking assessments to measure now and compare growth for middle and end of grade.
  11. Pick up this week will be earlier to ensure a quick dismissal.

***Please be patient during drop off and pick up.  It takes about two weeks for things to settle down with all the new kindergarten families (120) and all new families.
