Good afternoon TMSA Families,                                                                                   September 8, 2024

This is Mrs. Burke with your updates for the week ahead where everyone has genius and is a leader!  Here are your updates for the week ahead…

  1. We are Officially a B School!  We are all so very excited for our achievements!  We also accomplished 95.5% growth!  Whoop Whoop!        Our School Report Card became public on September 4th! Congratulations to the entire learning community!  We are back to pre COVID academia and rising! As we keep saying, “better than ever and TMSA is out of this world!”  Our press release and banners will be coming soon!  In addition, we will provide information about our progress in comparison to the county and state.  This will also be announced at our next TMSA School Board Meeting on Tuesday, September 10.  Stay tuned.
  2. Grandparents Breakfast is tomorrow.  K-2 from 8-8:45am and 3-5 from 9-9:45am.  We had over 273 RSVPs!  That’s amazing. We are making history again!  Please be patient as we make this happen tomorrow.  Thanks to our Parent Champions for doing all the leg work!  It is going to be amazing!
  1. Attendance Awareness Month and Academic Growth: Every day of instruction builds upon the previous one. Regular attendance ensures that your child does not miss out on essential lessons and concepts, which helps them stay on track and succeed academically.  You might want to know what is Chronic Absenteeism? Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing at least 10 percent of days in a school year
  2. Patriot Day Honorary Program is scheduled for September 11.  We will participate in the nations moment of silence.   We will live stream on Facebook.   Join us via social media or come on in.   We have room for you!
  1. Safety Drills Your students participate in safety drills throughout the year.  We participate in fire, tornado and lockdown drills.
  2. Family Engagement is one or our big rocks for this year.  Improving family engagement helps with the overall learning and builds on having a great learning community.  Thank you for attending, participating and sharing your ideas and feedback.  Our next family engagement activity is Skateland USA.  The students really enjoy this time with family, peers and staff.  I hope to see you all come out!  Let’s fill the skating rink with TMSA Tigers and families!
  1. Carline Numbers Need to be visible while on campus. It should be visible for the staff to see when in the loading zone. This helps expedite finding cars and students.  Please keep them on the dash until you leave campus.
  1. Late Fee for late pickup…All students must be picked up by 3:00 pm or you will incur a $20 late fee upon your late arrival.  Our staff need time to prepare for the next day, have meetings, make phone calls, etc.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Leader in Me… Habit 3 First Things First is the second creation, the physical creation. “Putting first things first means organizing and executing around your most important priorities. It is living and being driven by the principles you value most, not by the agendas and forces surrounding you.” –

Those are your updates!  Let’s make it a great week!  Gooooo Tigers!

Respectfully,

Mrs. Burke
