TMSA Triad Elementary Shines Bright at NC Science Olympiad, Sweeping Medal Standings
TMSA Triad Elementary School students delivered a remarkable performance at the NC Science Olympiad held at WB Wicker Elementary STEAM School, competing against some of North Carolina’s brightest young scientists. A total of 43 students participated in 14 challenging science events, securing medals across every category and underscoring TMSA’s excellence in STEM education.
Varsity Team Excels with First Place Victory
The Varsity Science Olympiad Team, comprising thirteen 5th-grade students and two 3rd graders, coached by Mrs. Farag, secured an impressive first-place finish in the varsity division. Their notable achievements included:
- 1st Place: Chew The Fat, Super Sleuths, Weather Permitting
- 2nd Place: Clue In To Science, Data Crunchers, Pasta Tower, Ramp & Roll
- 3rd Place: Backyard Biologist, Sky Quest, Ecology Experts
- Top 5 Finishes: Codebusters, Duct Tape Challenge, Rock Star, Just Plane Awesome
JV Team 1 Dominates Junior Varsity Level
Coached by Mr. Houdek, JV Team 1, composed of thirteen 4th graders and two 3rd graders, achieved outstanding results, also winning first place at the junior varsity level. Their accomplishments included:
- 1st Place: Backyard Biologist, Codebusters, Data Crunchers, Ramp & Roll, Ecology Experts, Weather Permitting
- 2nd Place: Chew The Fat, Just Plane Awesome, Pasta Tower, Sky Quest, Super Sleuths, Clue Into Science, Rock Star
- 3rd Place: Duct Tape Challenge
JV Team 2 Demonstrates Excellence and Team Spirit
JV Team 2, coached by Mrs. Burgess, featuring eight 2nd graders and five 3rd graders, demonstrated remarkable teamwork and academic prowess, earning medals in:
- 1st Place: Duct Tape Challenge, Sky Quest
- 2nd Place: Backyard Biologist, Codebusters, Weather Permitting
- 3rd Place: Just Plane Awesome, Data Crunchers, Ecology Experts, Rock Stars
