Good afternoon TMSA Families,                                                                                   September 2, 2024

This is Mrs. Burke with your updates for the week ahead where everyone has genius and is a leader!  Here are your updates for the week ahead…

  1. Attendance Awareness Month Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. This relationship between attendance and achievement may appear early in a child's school career.
  2. Right turn in and out… We do this to ensure safety and efficiency.  We do not allow left turns.  Plan a few extra minutes to ensure your student is off to a great start of each day.  The only ones permitted to do so are staff to ensure they are in place to receive students.  Thank you so much for your cooperation and understanding.
  3. Curriculum Night will be held on Thursday, September 5th for all grade levels. This is a great opportunity for you to come and see the curriculum we are using.  We also use online resources to support learning.  Come check it out and I hope to see you attend.
  • K, 1st and 2nd Grades:  5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • 3rd 4th and 5th Grades:  6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  1. Carline Numbers Need to be visible while on campus. Please keep them on the dash until you leave campus.  Help your student to know their carline number.  Remind them to come out quickly, go to the cones for grade level and find their cars.   We call the carline numbers out. This helps expedite finding and getting in more efficiently. I am sure you are all noticing the difference when procedures are followed. Thank you for doing your part.
  1. Afterschool on Site – There are still some spots available.
  1. Late Fee for late pickup…All students must be picked up by 3:00 pm or you will incur a $20 late fee upon arrival.  Do your part and make arrangements if you are not able to get your student by that time.
  2. Safety Patrol We will have student leaders helping the little ones out of the car and closing car doors.  They will be additional support alongside staff.  The purpose is to emphasize leadership and working together to make TMSA a safe, happy and healthy environment.  Please share your sentiments towards those students as they help take care of the exiting and entering of your vehicles.  They all went through an application process and training to achieve this role.
  3. No School Friday due to MAP Data Day. Staff will be going over their class data, discuss groups and plan strategies with support staff and within the classroom. Students will be setting MAP goals from Fall to Winter and again Winter to Spring.  Ask you student what their goals are and support them in reaching them. If you have questions, reach out to your child’s teacher.

Leader in Me… Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind.

Habit 2 involves having a plan. I plan ahead, set goals, and focus on activities that are meaningful and impactful for my school's mission and vision. This habit is rooted in imagination—the ability to visualize what is not yet visible. It operates on the principle that everything is created twice: first mentally, and then physically.

Those are your updates!  Let’s make it a great week!  Gooooo Tigers!

Respectfully,

Mrs. Burke
